For Family Caregivers
Are you caring for someone who is living with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementia?
We're delighted to offer a FREE six-session training program for family members and friends. Presented by Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, the training sessions will be held here in our Circle Home offices, on six Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00PM, beginning on October 31 and ending on December 5. This "Savvy Caregiver Program" will help you to understand the impact of dementia on you as well as the person you're caring for; learn skills to manage daily life; take control and set goals; communicate more effectively; strengthen family resources; feel better about your caregiving; and take care of you! For more information and to register, contact Crystal at 978-651-3034 or Irene at 978-805-2641. Participation is limited so register early!
Three Circle Home employees were recently honored with the Thomas G. Kelakos Memorial Award, in recognition of their "outstanding performance." Each year, up to three employees, nominated by their peers and selected by our Board of Directors, are presented with a gift of $1,000. This year's awardees are: Patricia Breed-Shusta, Quality Improvement Nurse; Susan Proulx-Galster, Manager of our Hospice & Palliative Care Program; and Kailey Blake, Community Health Nurse. These staff members demonstrated exceptional qualities in leadership, compassionate care, and advancing the Circle Home mission. The award is named in memory of the late Mr. Kelakos, who was our Board member for over 40 years.
Board Leadership Recently elected as officers of the Circle Home Board of Directors were Steven Larochelle, Chair; and Naomi Prendergast, Vice Chair. Continuing as officers are Michael King, Second Vice Chair; Leonore Ouellette, Clerk; Brian Stafford, Treasurer; and Susan Green, Assistant Treasurer. Thank you for your volunteer service!
